Website Server Migration!

Ringing in 2019 with a shiny new backend

Man, it’s been a while.

I really like how in my last post (back in 2017! Jeez, time flies…) I said “I haven’t forgotten you, I’ll be more active, I promise!” and then I post zero updates for almost 2 years. Heh.

Anyways. Hello again!

This post will be short and sweet - if you’re reading this text right now, it means that my website has migrated successfully to its new host! The old host worked just fine, but due to a little bit of shenanigans and tomfoolery on their part I needed to get this website onto a new VPS, so I’ve spent a good chunk of this evening doing just that. I briefly forgot that SELinux was a thing, and since I moved from Debian to CentOS 7 as the underlying OS I also forgot that CentOS doesn’t hold your hand when it comes to firewall stuff, but I’ve worked past all of that and now this website is back up and running!

I’ve actually got some really interesting blog posts in the works currently - relating to stuff like pfSense, Facebook, tips and tricks about git, and even something completely different!

What else do I have in store for the future? You’ll just have to stick around and see for yourself ;)

In case you’ve forgotten, you can see what I’m all about by clicking on the “About” link above (or, if you’re lazy [kudos to you!], you can just click here).
