On Arch I recently decided to switch from the Cinnamon desktop environment over to the Subtle window manager. My reasons for this are multiple and varied, and I’ll get into that in another post.
This is mostly for my own personal reference.
I am a big fan of the ‘reverse scrolling’ that you find on Apple laptops. It just makes sense to me. However, in my switchover from Cinnamon to Subtle I lost this functionality.
I found my answer on the Arch forums, which linked me to this page. Basically:
xinput list (to find the device name) xinput set-button-map <devicename> 1 2 3 5 4
This will give you the reverse-scrolling functionality that mimics OS X.
